1.Forex: USD index surged to a one-month high on Thursday. EUR touched $1.0078, the lowest since July 18. USD rose to 135.90 against JPY, its lowest level since July 28. GBP was as low as 1.1920, the lowest since July 22.
2.Gold: Gold prices retreated on Thursday, pressured by a stronger dollar.
3.Crude oil: Brent crude futures rose 3.1 percent to close at $96.59 a barrel. U.S. crude rose 2.7 percent to settle at $90.50.
4.Stocks: The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.06% to 33,999.04 points. The S&P 500 index rose 0.23% to 4283.74 points. The Nasdaq rose 0.21% to 12,965.34 points.
